K-12 Framework

The MatEdU competencies became the foundation for Washington State K-12 curriculum in 2008. MatEdU and Edmonds College's Materials Science Technology Program facilitated a Statewide Materials Science Technology Frameworks Committee Meeting for the Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction. During this meeting 8-materials science high school teachers from across the state finalized the Washington State curriculum frameworks for Materials Science Technology in the high schools. The committee unanimously approved using the MatEdU competencies for the curriculum frameworks.
